    He is upset that it was released on Christmas-Eve-Eve. First of all as if that day is sacred all of a sudden? It’s not. Second of all like dude they released it so close to Christmas so it’d be buried they did you a favor by NOT dragging you into for a hearing AFTER Christmas when everyone is at home sitting in front of the TV.

    Whether he is in Congress or not, this would have been worth a FOIA request; American tax dollars were spent on this investigation and report. Ethics investigations and reports are not made to be secret, and the report deals with his time in office. It is also relevant for voters, if Gaetz ever decides to run for office again.

    What should have been printed in the article are the names of the 5 Republicans who deadlocked the vote to prevent this report from being made public:

    Michael Guest, Mississippi

    John Rutherford, Florida

    Andrew Garbarino, New York

    Ashley Hinson, Iowa

    Nathaniel Moran, Texas

    The notion that it was because Gaetz is no longer in Congress is laughable. It was an attempt to sweep the behavior from public scrutiny. Were Gaetz a Dem, it would have been a 10-0 vote to release it.

    These 5 civil servants would have been better off releasing the report with a strong repudiation of Gaetz and his actions. Instead, the public gets to see what accountability means to the House Ethics Committee.
