Saudi Arabia calls UAE-backed separatist advance in Yemen threat to national security • FRANCE 24

Saudi Arabia declared a UAE-backed separatist advance in Yemen as a threat to Riyadh’s national security, after a Saudi-led coalition said it struck a UAE weapons shipment destined to Yemen’s STC separatist forces. The latter, backed by Abu Dhabi, are seeking to revive the formerly independent state of South Yemen thirty years after the country’s unification. They made sweeping territorial gains after launching a lightning offensive in recent weeks. Jon Gambrell, Associate Press reporter, tells us more.

  1. UAE is also controlling the port in Somaliland and indirectly supporting the cessation of this region from Somalia. UAE is now supporting a separatist group known as STC in Yemen. UAE has to be controlled before it will be too late.

  2. cool, we got iranian backed shiite houthi, israel backed secular yemeni stc, saudi backed og republic of yemen. basically syrian war 2: electric boogaloo

  3. Why is Saudi Arabia backing the terrorist groups like Houthis in Yemen? The Houthis need to be wiped out

  4. Arabian peninsula can unite into one country called United Republic of Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 they are all Muslims and speak Arabic. They have so much in common I don't understand why they are fighting each other.

  5. They want to keep stealing South yemen's oil.
The southern are not a threat to Saudi security at all.
All they did was take over their land.
They did not even enter Saudi land.

  6. I'm with the UAE on this one. The STC controls almost all of 'south yemen' and should be left to have their own country. arm them, let them keep the houthis out. This makes me wonder what back room deal the sauds have with the houthis after their ceasefire.
