Revenue from foreign tourists in Croatia reached €13.41 billion in the first nine months of 2025, representing an increase of 1.7 percent, or €223 million, compared with the same period in 2024, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports reported on Wednesday, citing data from the Croatian National Bank (HNB).

At the same time, revenues in the third quarter of 2025 recorded a slight year-on-year decline of 0.2 percent, reflecting more moderate results during the peak summer period.

According to HNB data, foreign tourist revenue in the third quarter amounted to €9.37 billion, which is €21 million less than in the same period last year. Despite this marginal decrease, overall results for 2025 continue to point to a stable and resilient tourism sector.

Commenting on the figures, Tonči Glavina, Minister of Tourism and Sports, said the data from HNB and the eVisitor system confirm that Croatian tourism is continuing on a path of stable and sustainable growth.

“Alongside revenue growth of nearly two percent in the first nine months, Croatia exceeded 110 million tourist overnight stays for the first time in history in 2025,” Glavina said. “We are satisfied with these results. They are not accidental, but the outcome of a strategic focus on quality, higher added value and more balanced tourism development throughout the year.”

Glavina noted that the slight decline in third-quarter revenue underlines the importance of price competitiveness, an issue the ministry has repeatedly highlighted. He added that research consistently shows lower travel interest during that part of the year, making realistic and competitive pricing particularly important.

Looking at longer-term trends, the minister said revenues from foreign tourists have increased by 83 percent compared with 2016 when measured across the first three quarters, while revenues in the third quarter alone have risen by 72 percent over the same period.

The figures suggest that while peak-season growth has moderated, Croatia’s tourism sector continues to generate higher overall value and remains focused on sustainability and year-round demand.
