You wouldn’t steal a fireworks display?

  1. Low IQ take.

It’s closed because of the issues around public order, some wee guy was stabbed to death a couple years ago and they’ve closed the gates overnight since 2023.

Royal Parks abolished the parks police as well.

Anyone with any events planning knowledge knows it’s a nightmare if it’s unplanned with no toilets, no stewards or anything else you need.

  2. Third times a charm for not uploading without any mistakes.

  3. We pay for the fireworks anyway, I should be able to watch where I want and not have to pay for it.

  4. Steal? I wonder where the money came from to pay for the display hrmmmm…

  5. Probably closed off for some better class than us normal folks to enjoy lol
Or next year people will be paying to watch from there.

  6. >Commander Nick John of the Metropolitan Police said: “The Royal Parks are urging people not to try to gather at Primrose Hill this year and we would echo those calls.

    >“Please make alternative plans. Anyone trying to access the park will find that it is not possible.”

Is that the extent of his statement or did he give a reasonable explanation for its closure that the article didn’t want to include because you can’t get as mad?

  7. Isn’t it because last year there was huge public disorder up there, rather than stopping people steal fireworks?

  8. In all seriousness wasn’t the guy they were talking to in this picture a massive nonce

  9. Shamima Begums been allowed back in and recruited to the thought gestapo.

  10. Fireworks are shit anyway they’re not that entertaining and scare the fuck out of animals. When you’ve seen a dog literally shaking, you stop finding fireworks fun

  11. The police officers that were assigned to this pathetic excuse for what amounts to no more than private revenue protection should have refused citing no crimes were taking place.

  12. Feel bad for the officers who would have had a day off that now have to work to stop trespassers on the hill or do anything better with their time.

Sorry it’s illegal to look at the sky now sorry lads you gotta work.

  13. This wasn’t the police’s choice to close the park. The Royal Parks asked them to because previously 30,000 people attended and damaged the park.

  14. We didn’t used to do this. And now London is stupidly expensive to live in and you can’t even walk to the top of a grassy hill on NYE and just take a moment. WTF in all honesty. Glad I left years ago.

  15. These two bonehead police officers will never live this down

  16. I used to love those shows, I worked right next door to the bird enclosure, or the snowden aviary, at the zoo
