Patriarch Daniel of Romania addressed the faithful with a video message on the occasion of the New Year 2026 and the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord.
Marking the beginning of the new year and the great feast of Theophany, the Romanian Patriarch extended his warm wishes to all, saying: “On the occasion of the New Year 2026 and the Holy Feast of the Baptism of the Lord, we address to you all our wishes for health and happiness, peace and joy, together with the traditional greeting: Many years!”
The Patriarch also recalled that 2026 has been proclaimed by the Romanian Orthodox Church as the Year of Pastoral Care for the Christian Family and the Commemorative Year of the Holy Women of the Church’s calendar, including the Myrrh-bearing Women, Martyrs, Monastics, wives, and mothers. This dedication highlights the vital role of the Christian family and the enduring witness of holy women in the life of the Church.
