  3. It was already too late yesterday! The EC has been giving in to Orbán and his regime for too long, and the current state of relations between the EU and Hungary is the result of this giving in and turning a blind eye to threats.

  5. Finally. EU has been way too patient with Orbán’s blackmail for years. Losing €1B+ is a small price for blocking Ukraine aid and rule of law.

  10. Just kick Hungary of any EU decission making organism. We don’t need russian puppets.

  11. It’s a shame there is no mechanism yet to automatically kick out those countries fallen to totalitarianism. The great expansion without getting rid of stuff like unanimity and veto powers and implementing safe guards for democratic standards was a huge mistake.

  19. It’s amazing that the Hungarian regime received any money from the EU all these years while spitting in the EU’s face and openly admitting to support Putin and his war. And all this for what? Some cheap gas?

  21. EU shouldn’t start helping Hungary if they change their leadership in the next elections. They got themselves into this mess, they should be the ones getting out of it too.

    Restrict all funds until the next elections (2030) at the very least.
