Big step up from reading 80 in 2023 & 2024. Maybe this year I should aim even higher!

  1. A great achievement 👏🏻 I set mine at 52 last year and finished my 57th book yesterday morning. I’m definitely aiming higher this year

  2. How long does it take you to finish a book? Do you go all-in and sit there for as long as it takes to finish it or do you have a few on the go at the same time ?

  3. Do you actually take it all in and absorb it? Seems like as soon as you finish one you just pick up another.

  4. I’d love to know how much time you spend reading. Do you do large sittings etc?

I find I can barely read one book a year because I can never get my head into them and then forget about them 🙁

  5. Hi OP, how do you find the item to read so.much? Are you a fast reader ?

  6. I genuinely love your love of reading if that makes sense

That’s a series of sprints up there though, set yourself a marathon this year and throw Gravitys Rainbow or something similar in, that thing was a beast to finish (and I loved it)

  7. Lovely to see some Pratchett in there. Going through the audiobooks just now. Nice to revisit the reading of my youth.

  8. Some great choices there, although you haven’t got to the part where my username will make sense yet…

    I really enjoyed Mickey 7 too 🙂

I did 200 this year, need to get cracking for 2026’s reads now!

  9. That’s brilliant!! I’ve promised myself to read all the books in my house this year.

  10. Meanwhile I’ve had the same book since 2024 since I only ever read on the plane and at airports.

  11. I see you’ve read Dark Forest but not the sequel. Your doing better than me as I could only manage Three Body Problem. Out of interest did you enjoy Dark Forest and do you think you’ll pick up Death’s End?

  12. I approve of that pile. Some good stuff in that wall of books.

My reading has gone off a cliff. Think I did about 7 last year 🙁

  13. Well done you! That’s an incredible achievement.

I’m one of those people who starts reading and abandons books partway through. I’m not a fiction fan, but I am interested in self-help type books (e.g., *How to Win Friends and Influence People*). However, I’m one of those people who seems to forget what I read, which leads to abandoning books because I then ask myself, “What’s the point of reading if I’m not going to retain what I’ve read?” This makes me think it’s pointless.

Anyone else like this? Would love to hear some advice.

    HNY all.

  14. I actually saved your image from the end of 2024 to get some reading inspiration — great to see more of the same

  15. I just came across a video on YouTube yesterday about TikTokers shaming each other for how many books they claimed to have read. It was absolutely bizarre.

Well done you. I may turn to A Gentleman in Moscow next. May I also suggest Our Friends in Berlin (by Anthony Quinn) for 2026? Fabulous.

  16. Discworld and I Am Legend are all fantastic books.

I managed 23 books in 2025, which beat my record of 19.

  17. One of my goals this year is to try to hit a reading target. I’m constantly thinking “I should read more” without actually making time for it, so hopefully if i give myself something to aim towards i’ll do better. I’ve been slack, so i’m just aiming for finishing one book a month for now. We’ll see how it goes. Well done on smashing 100!

  18. Nicely done, I’m also very jealous of that stack of Terry Pratchett books with the nice covers 🙂

  19. Awesome. I’m just about to start The Housemaids Secret by Freida McFadden.

I definitely plan on reading more books in 2026.

  20. Nice, I’ve only read one from your pic (The Secret of Crickley Hall) and can’t remember much from it. Currently reading Stephen Kings ‘Needful Things’. Just a couple chapters before bed every night

  21. This looks like an awesome year of reading. Well done!

  22. Great to see James Herbert representation in there!

  23. I think you’d really enjoy the Long Earth series by Stephen Baxter and Terry Pratchett if you haven’t already read it.

  24. Don’t think I didnt notice the Discworld books were in order 😉

    GNU STP!

Do you have a favourite? Guards Guards is up there for me. Plus Mort.

  25. I assume you’ve already read the rest of the Darren Shan books?

  26. The important question is: did you enjoy reading them? Or did you just enjoy the achievement?

  27. Well done, you. And happy New Year of Curious Squid from a fellow Discworld fan!

  28. My New Year’s resolution this year is to finally get back into reading – read a book in bed, instead of just being on my iPad, Planning on starting with rereading Terry Pratchett, and continue the series.

    Happy New Year!

  29. That’s awesome dude. I’m such a slow reader I think I could probably only do 1 a month or so

  30. Ah, I’d wondered how many you got to this year!

Do you have a target for this year or just going with the flow?
