King Charles has just had another successful Christmas at Sandringham with his nearest and dearest, including his eldest son, Prince William and his family. While many members of the Royal Family gathered together for the last big family event of 2025, some relatives were, of course, not present.
This included Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who have not spent a Christmas at Sandringham since 2018. While it is believed Harry, 41, did make amends with his father, King Charles, last September, this still didn’t see the Duke and Duchess of Sussex receive an invite to spend December 25 in the UK.
And, according to one royal insider, an invite to spend Christmas at Sandringham with Harry and Meghan’s name on it “will never happen” ever again.
Speaking on behalf of Casino.org, Paul Burrell – former royal butler and friend of the late Diana, Princess of Wales – said it would be a “disaster” if Harry and Meghan were to attend.
He says that ever since they quit royal life in 2020 and moved to America, the pair cannot be trusted.
When asked what it would take for the King to invite his youngest son back into the royal fold for Christmas celebrations, Burrell said, “That will never happen. I’ve always said it, and I’ll say it again: it will never happen.
“And the reason is simple—you have to consider the dynamics of everyone living under one roof. If you were to inject Harry and Meghan into that mix, into that very particular “soup” of royalty, it would become a complete disaster.”
He continued: “The family get along because they understand one another, and they understand the routines and traditions that shape those Christmases. Meghan clearly doesn’t, and she wouldn’t fit in. And beyond that, her presence would make everyone else uncomfortable as well.
“Harry himself would have an awful time. There’s simply no place for them at Sandringham anymore—there never will be, not even when William becomes king. They simply cannot be trusted to keep what happens at Sandringham a secret.”
It is believed the King will see his youngest son at some point this year.
