President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a telephone conversation on Sunday with Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Muhammed Bin Selman, focusing on bilateral relations and regional developments in Somalia, Yemen and Gaza.
During the call, Erdogan emphasized Türkiye’s commitment to deepening cooperation with Saudi Arabia through steps to be taken in the coming period. The discussion covered bilateral ties between the two nations as well as broader regional and global issues.
Türkiye monitors Somalia and Yemen developments
Erdogan stated that Türkiye is closely following developments in both Somalia and Yemen, stressing that preserving the territorial integrity of both countries remains crucial for regional stability. The Turkish president expressed his country’s readiness to contribute to efforts aimed at bringing parties together in Yemen.
The Horn of Africa and Arabian Peninsula have seen ongoing conflicts that have drawn international concern over humanitarian conditions and geopolitical stability. Türkiye has sought to position itself as a mediator in regional disputes while maintaining diplomatic and economic relationships across the Middle East.
The Turkish president highlighted the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza, noting that conditions have worsened with the onset of winter. Erdogan said Türkiye continues working toward achieving a permanent ceasefire and the reconstruction of Gaza.
