Türkiye supports Syria’s right to defend against SDF attacks in Aleppo

Turkish security sources issued a statement supporting Syria’s right to defend its territorial integrity following clashes in Aleppo triggered by attacks from the SDF terror group according to state broadcaster TRT.

The security sources declared that the Syrian government remains committed to ensuring the safety of all its citizens regardless of ethnic or sectarian background. The statement emphasized Syria’s sovereign right to protect itself against terrorist organizations.

The statement marks Türkiye’s first official comment on the recent hostilities in Aleppo. The clashes follow SDF attacks in the northern Syrian city, though details about the scale and duration of the fighting remain limited.
