What to KnowAn ICE agent shot and killed a woman today after a group of people began blocking officers during an immigration-related operation in Minneapolis, the Department of Homeland Security said.Federal officials and President Donald Trump allege the woman, who was in an SUV, used her vehicle as a weapon to try to kill ICE agents. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said the ICE agent was “hit by the vehicle.”State officials, including Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, said videos do not show the vehicle was being weaponized: “Having seen the video of myself, I want to tell everybody directly that is b—s—.”Also today, the United States seized two sanctioned tankers, including a Russian-flagged oil tanker that was in the Atlantic. The second tanker was in international waters in the Caribbean.President Trump appeared to reverse his stance on Colombian President Gustavo Petro, who he had accused of being involved in the drug trade, and announced in a post on Truth Social that the two will meet.The U.S. for the first time backed a pledge by a broad coalition of Ukraine’s allies to provide security guarantees to the country, include binding commitments to support it if Russia attacks again.
