AI startup xAI, linked to Elon Musk, announced an investment of more than $20 billion USD in building a data center in Sitegaven, Mississippi.

According to data released by Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves, the statement confirms plans to launch the data center as early as February 2026.

Musk announced the acquisition of the data center named MACROHARDRR on Tuesday, December 30, noting that it would enable xAI’s computing power to reach 2 GW, but details of the investment and the exact location had not been disclosed at the time.

According to Reeves, the future center will be located near a power plant in Sitegaven, close to the recently acquired xAI facility and the existing data center in Memphis.

Key investment and location highlights

In Memphis, there is also an xAI supercomputer cluster named Colossus, considered one of the largest in the world.

According to data, the company previously completed another funding round, raising around $20 billion.
