Media outlets under Taliban control reported that 450 migrant families returned to the country yesterday.

Bakhtar News Agency, run by the Taliban, reported on Sunday, January 11, that one family returned via the Pul-e Abrasham crossing in Nimroz, seven families through Islam Qala in Herat, 34 families via Spin Boldak in Kandahar, and 411 families through the Torkham crossing in Nangarhar.

The United Nations says that only 11 percent of returnees are currently employed.

About 500 families had also returned to the country two days earlier.

The United Nations says that 2.8 million Afghan migrants returned to Afghanistan from Iran and Pakistan in 2025.
