BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) – A pipeline company says it plans to move forward with a new natural gas pipeline in North Dakota.
Intensity Infrastructure Partners says it has enough transportation commitments to build a 36-inch natural gas pipeline. It will run through western and central North Dakota, connecting with six Bakken natural gas processing plants.
The company anticipates it running in early 2029.
State Pipeline Authority Director Justin Kringstad says it’s welcome news to get more of that resource from the Bakken to other parts of the state.
“It is very exciting to see the marriage of upstream supply needs for additional pipeline egress out of western North Dakota and all the incremental and industrial power generation opportunities that are formulated across central and eastern North Dakota,” said Kringstad.
Intensity considers this to be phase one of the project, with phase two potentially taking natural gas to the eastern part of the state.
