Forward Annika Schmitz scored Australia’s only goal of the game and was named the hardest worker for the team. The IIHF award for best Australian player of the match was given to defender Jasmine Chen. The result is a decline compared to the team’s last matchup in 2023 where Great Britain won 2–1.
