Prince Harry’s ex has broken her silence today after news emerged that she was arrested in Spain on Sunday. Reality TV star Catherine Ommanney, who had a fling with Prince Harry when he was 21, and was arrested for allegedly leaving a hotel in Majorca without paying a bill.
The 53-year-old was arrested on suspicion of fraud after a hotel manager at the Playas del Rey Hotel in Santa Ponsa claimed she had not settled her €500 (£434) bill for a nine-day stay. Catherine appeared in court yesterday in Palma and was released on bail pending the outcome of an ongoing investigation.
However, Catherine has now broken her silence and claimed she had paid the bill, and the hotel made a “technical error”.
She told journalist Gerard Couzens on Monday: “It’s all bull****. The bill was paid.
“I have proof the bill was paid in full. It was a technical error on the hotel’s behalf, and I will be seeking an apology through the justice system.”
It has not yet been confirmed whether the investigation following Catherine’s arrest has been dropped.
While Catherine never officially became Prince Harry’s girlfriend, she did have a brief fling with him in 2006 after the pair met at a bar. This was revealed by Catherine in 2022.
Harry was 21 at the time of the fling, while Catherine was 34.
She told The Sun on Sunday that Harry “was very sure of himself” and was a “great kisser”.
She also said: “I do believe he enjoyed my company because I’m a little bit older and wiser and not like the 20-year-olds or whatever he had been hanging out with.
“I had the patience to listen to what he said and give him some advice on life. Harry was surrounded by young women that would throw themselves at him and I think he was searching for something deeper and more meaningful with someone wiser.”
