TestMu AI, formerly LambdaTest Inc., today rebranded itself from a cloud testing platform to become an agentic artificial intelligence engineering quality testing platform.
Founded in 2018, LambdaTest built itself as a cloud-based test orchestration and execution platform designed to assist organizations to reduce cycle time, detect flaky tests and improve developer experience. Starting in 2022, the company began its journey by incorporating AI across its products and services, now it is completing the transformation.
“AI is fundamentally changing how software is built and shipped,” said co-founder and Chief Executive Asad Khan. “Development cycles that once took weeks now take hours. But speed without quality is chaos.”
Khan added that testing needed to evolve from brittle, high-maintenance automations to intelligent agents that can understand change and act autonomously in partnership with developers.
He said the company has “re-architected” to become fully AI-native and deploy agents that can plan, author and orchestrate software quality with minimal human intervention to deliver end-to-end testing using company wide context based on simple natural language prompts.
Users can now test every layer of database, cloud, application programming language, user interface, performance and more with just simple sentences.
The name TestMu was adopted directly from the company’s community. Since 2022, the company hosted the TestMu Conference, stylized Testμ using the Greek character, a large free annual virtual event about testing and DevOps.
“Our community recognized the spirit of TestMu long before this announcement,” Khan added. “TestMu represents a thriving community, a shared craft, and the future of quality engineering.”
He added that the shift reflects the company’s average 110% average year-on-year growth over the past 2 years. To date the platform has executed billions of tests for more than 18,000 enterprise customers, including Microsoft Corp. OpenAI Group PBC, Nvidia Corp. and Vimeo Inc. across more than 90 countries.
Looking to the future, TestMu AI’s roadmap includes fully autonomous AI agents, agent-to-agent testing, evaluation of AI systems by AI systems and deep integration with codebases and developer workflows.
