Conor McGregor has shared a surprising story behind his wedding to Dee Devlin. The former MMA star said the decision came after he woke up from a hallucinogenic treatment in Mexico. He described feeling an “intense need to wed” Dee, the woman he has been with for more than 16 years. The couple secretly got married on December 12 in Vatican City. The ceremony took place at the Chiesa di Santo Stefano degli Abissini, one of the oldest churches inside the Vatican. McGregor said the wedding date and time felt deeply meaningful to him and believed it was guided by a higher power.At 37, McGregor explained that the treatment was meant to help him deal with past trauma. After waking up, he felt clear about his life and family. That moment, he said, pushed him to finally marry Dee Devlin, his long-time partner and mother of his four children.

Conor McGregor revealed that the wedding was first planned for a later date. However, a letter from the Vatican arrived just one week before the ceremony. The letter asked for the wedding to be moved earlier. McGregor said the timing felt special and unplanned.He shared, “I married the love of my life, Dee, on the 12th of the 12th at exactly 12:12pm. We wed in the Chapel of Santo Stefano degli Abissini — the Vatican’s oldest church.”McGregor then spoke about numbers that mattered to him. He said the wedding happened exactly 151 days after his birthday. He explained, “Jesus Christ = 151. Conor McGregor = 151.” He also linked the number to Psalm 151 and called all of it “divine orchestration.”He added, “The exact 12:12pm timing was not my plan at all. A letter from the Vatican arrived just a week prior, requiring the ceremony to be moved earlier.”McGregor said the hallucinogenic treatment took place in Tijuana, Mexico. He shared earlier that he saw visions during the experience, including meeting Jesus and seeing his own death. He said the treatment helped him face emotional pain.Insiders earlier confirmed that the Sistine Chapel was not allowed for weddings due to Vatican rules. The couple chose a smaller church instead.Footage later shared by Daily Mail showed the couple’s first dance to “Dreamlover” by Mariah Carey. They were also seen riding through Rome in a white 1930s Rolls-Royce Phantom III.Dee Devlin wore a white lace dress, while McGregor wore a black tuxedo. The celebration lasted late into the night.Dee has stood by McGregor during past legal troubles.
