Nationwide is set to adjust savings rates, the UK’s largest building society has said. The world’s biggest mutual, which has Birmingham branches, will make the move in response to the Bank of England Bank Rate decrease of 0.25% on 18 December 2025.

From 10 February it will lower some rates by between 0.10% – 0.25% on specific savings products. The majority of products will reduce by less than the change in the Bank Rate.

In addition to this, Nationwide will increase the rate on its five-year Fixed Rate Bond and ISA to 4%. The unwelcome move means some customers will be worse off.
