With the launch of the Savings and Investment Union (SIU) strategy, Europe now has a real opportunity to turn savings into investment, boost business growth, and strengthen capital markets across the EU.

The Confederation of Swedish Enterprise is pleased to invite you to a discussion on how investments, national reforms, pension funds, and private markets can help unlock this potential and put Europe’s savings to work, with a light breakfast served from 8h30.

The seminar also marks the launch of a new report by the Brussels-based think tank ECIPE, commissioned by the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise. The report compares capital markets across eight EU-countries and identifies concrete national reforms to strengthen Europe’s financial ecosystem.

How the SIU can deliver results, strengthen private markets, and bridge Europe’s investment gap.

Andrea Beltramello, Head of the Capital Markets Union unit, European Commission DG FISMA

Aura Salla, Member of the European Parliament (EPP, FI)

Christian Danielsson, State Secretary, Swedish Prime Minister’s Office

Jurand Drop, Undersecretary of State, Polish Ministry of Finance

Part II: The Power of Pensions

Per Hidesten, Managing Director at the Swedish Association of Industrial Employers

Torbjörn Hållö, Chief Economist at the Swedish Trade Union Confederation

Moderator: Fredrik Erixon, Founding Director of the European Centre for International Political Economy (ECIPE), will present ECIPE’s report and act as moderator for the panel discussions.
