ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — The DeKalb Perimeter Community Improvement District is adding to a continued partnership with the Dunwoody Police Department.
They are investing $360,000 towards the operations of the real time crime center by funding things like operational costs of a drone and the city’s cameras.
The goal is to keep people safe while they’re shopping or out and about.
The DeKalb Perimeter CID has several establishments like High Street, a live-work-play center in Dunwoody. That’s why their relationship with police is important.
“It’s community policing at its best. When you have a business willing to help us out not just financially, but gives us access to things,” Sgt. Michael Cheek said. “Even help work with us on investigations and things along those lines.”
The DeKalb Perimeter CID is a self-taxing business district representing commercial property owners on the DeKalb County side of the Perimeter.
