The selection of candidates for appointment to the vacant post of ambassador of Belarus to Russia is already underway – as stated by Dmitry Krutoi, Head of Belarus’ President Administration, in his talk with the First News TV channel, BelTA reports
“I think that a list of such candidates will be presented to our President for decision-making in the coming weeks. We will do it without a delay, taking into account the fact that the Supreme State Council of the Union State will meet soon, preceded by a sitting of the Union State Council of Ministers. Differently speaking, our embassy cannot remain without its head for a long time. We will not delay in this regard,” Mr. Krutoi said.
The Head of Belarus’ President Administration added that the selection of candidates is already underway, and the President has given such instructions, “Several options are being worked out, depending on the concept that will correspond to the current state of our relations. After all, as the President figuratively said, the position of ambassador to Russia and this embassy are, in fact, our second government outside the country – considering a really high level of trade turnover.”
Mr. Krutoi also stated that the agenda of Belarus-Russia relations is truly wide, including at the interregional level, integration projects are being implemented. “This is a very multidisciplinary and versatile agenda, which definitely requires a qualified person who would know well the specifics of our country, authorities and enterprises, and who could skilfully build relationships with our Russian friends, colleagues and partners,” he stressed.
