
A 44-year old man was arrested on Saturday for killing a 50-year-old man in a village of western Greece, police said.
The crime took place at around 10.30 a.m. in the area of Makrinia, in the region of Aetolia-Acarnania. The suspect is said to have ambushed the victim who he shot repeatedly with a shotgun as he drove by. The vehicle veered off course and ended up in a nearby field. The 50-year-old died at the scene.
Media reported that the victim was the president of the local Lithovouni community.
Authorities investigating the motive believe it was likely linked to personal differences.
