Belarusian opposition leader Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya told Lithuanian lawmakers about her decision to move to Poland.
LRT and Ukrinform report this.
The information was shared during a meeting last week with a temporary group of the Lithuanian Parliament that supports democratic forces in Belarus. Lawmakers from different parties participated in the meeting and spoke on condition of anonymity.
According to Zerkalo.io, in one interview Tsikhanouskaya stated that her office remains in Vilnius, but part of the team works in Warsaw.
Relocation to Poland and security measures
Tsikhanouskaya’s aide, Denys Kuchynskyi, previously told reporters that her husband Sergei Tsikhanovsky, released from prison last year, is currently in the United States for security reasons.
As reported, from October 1, 2025 the Lithuanian government lowered the level of physical protection for Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya. The provision of her security shifted from the State Protection Service to the Bureau of Criminal Police. This meant that Tsikhanouskaya is guarded not as the head of state, but as a person who may face real danger. After this, it became known about the temporary physical closure of Tsikhanouskaya’s Office in Vilnius.
Later, Lithuania temporarily restored Tsikhanouskaya’s protection.
