Kate Middleton made sure not to miss a well-wisher who caught her attention during a walkabout in Scotland.
Princess Kate and Prince William made a joint visit to Scotland on Jan. 20 to shine a light on how the country’s heritage traditions continue to connect communities today and greeted the crowd following their stop at Radical Weavers in Stirling.
In fan footage shared to Instagram, Princess Kate, 44, gave a wave as she headed towards her car.
She then ran to meet one more person. The Princess of Wales pointed and hurried back to the crowd in a spontaneous move that seemed to surprise the team around her.

“Hi, thank you very much,” Princess Kate said as she shook hands with the fan, accepted a bouquet of red carnations and posed for a picture.Â
The Princess of Wales’ spontaneous sprint in her black heeled boots wasn’t her only sporty move on Tuesday. She also beat Prince William in a friendly curling competition at the National Curling Academy.
Kate’s impromptu run was reminiscent of a previous exchange with a well-wisher, when she stopped her royal convoy to meet an eager little girl.

The moment unfolded in January 2025, when the Princess of Wales stopped her convoy while leaving the Corgi knitwear factory in Ammanford, Wales, to meet a 3-year-old girl named Lily-Rose.
In a “highly unusual move,” Princess Kate stopped her motorcade and hopped out of her car to greet the young girl who had been calling out, “Hello Princess,” the BBC reported.
Members of the crowd cheered as Kate ran over, and the royal said, “I heard you calling,” which made them laugh.

The Princess of Wales is known for her warm way at walkabouts and previously quipped that she can get caught up talking!
“There’s a real art to walkabouts. Everybody teases me in the family that I spend far too long chatting. I still have to learn a little bit more, and to pick up a few more tips, I suppose,” she said in a documentary celebrating Queen Elizabeth‘s 90th birthday in 2016.
