Producer prices in Latvia’s industrial sector increased by 1.0 % year-on-year and reduced by 0.8 % month-on-month according to data published on January 22nd by the Central Statistical Bureau (CSB).
The year-on-year price level for the domestic market grew by 0.8 % and for the non-domestic market by 1.1 %. The prices of products exported to euro area countries went up by 1.4 % and of products exported to non-euro area countries by 0.8 %.
Price rises in manufacture of wood and of products of wood and cork; mining and quarrying; waste collection, treatment and disposal activities, materials recovery; manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products had upward impact on the level of producer prices during the year.
Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply; manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products had downward impact on the producer price changes.
The month-on-month producer price level fell by 0.8 %. The level of prices of products sold on the domestic market decreased by 0.6 %, and prices of exported products – by 1.0 %. The level of producer prices of products exported to euro area countries went down by 2.4 %, but that of products exported to non-euro area countries increased by 0.2 %.
Lower prices in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply supported the monthly price level drop. Higher prices in manufacture of wood and of products of wood and cork were a key factor behind the monthly price rise.
In 2025, the 12-month average level of producer prices in Latvian industry increased by 0.9 %, compared to the 12-month average level of 2024. Prices of products sold on the domestic market increased by 0.1 %, while prices of exported products – by 1.7 %. Prices of products exported to euro area countries rose by 2.1 %, but those of products exported to non-euro area countries – by 1.4 %.
