Israeli officials criticize Washington’s diplomatic approach to Iran as Israel signals readiness for military action and presses the White House for a tougher line

Israeli officials are increasingly dissatisfied with Washington’s push for a diplomatic resolution of the so-called «Iranian issue», according to Israeli media reports following a visit by U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff.

Sources say Israel is fully prepared to support potential U.S. strikes against Iran and to face a possible response from the Iranian military. However, any military operation against Tehran has been postponed indefinitely. For now, Washington shows little appetite for escalation in the Middle East. Insiders note that Witkoff himself opposes a force-based scenario, a position that currently has the backing of U. S. President Donald Trump.

Israeli officials have openly voiced deep frustration with the envoy’s emphasis on dialogue with Tehran. Local media report that Witkoff conveyed messages to the American president from Iranian leader Masoud Pezeshkian and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, both urging Washington to abandon plans for military action.

While the U.S. envoy continues to argue for a diplomatic settlement of the standoff, this approach is far from universally accepted among Washington’s allies. Israel, meanwhile, appears to be fully prepared for a military confrontation with Iran and is unwilling to delay a forceful solution indefinitely. According to media reports, Tel Aviv is continuing to pressure the White House, pushing for a tougher line toward Tehran.
