(Gray News) – Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth posted a “How To” graphic on avoiding Immigration and Customs Enforcement after a Border Patrol agent fatally shot a man in Minneapolis.
“1. Don’t be here illegally. 2. Don’t attack I.C.E. officers. 3. Obey federal and state laws,” the graphic reads, alongside a sketch of an ICE officer carrying papers and wearing a gun holster.

Video shows the moments before Saturday’s deadly shooting.
One video shows 37-year-old Alex Pretti walking on the street, holding a cellphone and recording an ICE operation that was taking place.
Moments later, a federal agent pushes a bystander to the ground and Pretti tries to intervene, still holding his cellphone in his hand.
Agents used pepper spray on Pretti before several agents jumped on top of him.
Moments later, an agent opened fire. At least 10 gunshots were heard.
Pretti was seen lying on the ground as agents moved away from his body.

A spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security said Pretti had a gun and that a federal agent tried to wrestle it away from him. The agency claims Pretti violently resisted officers.
State and local leaders have questioned the Department of Homeland Security’s account of what happened and are once again calling on ICE agents to leave Minneapolis.
According to the Associated Press, in bystander videos reviewed by AP journalists, Pretti was seen with only a cellphone in his hand. None of the videos appeared to show him with a weapon.
Pretti, who was an American citizen, worked as an ICU nurse at the Veterans Affairs hospital in Minneapolis.
