Helsinki, Finland:  The Finland branch of the Free Balochistan Movement (FBM) held a commemorative event on 13 November to honour Baloch Martyrs’ Day and reaffirm its commitment to the struggle for a united and free Balochistan. The gathering featured speeches by political and intellectual figures, including General Kochi, Mehwand Khan, Banaras Khan, Shafeeullah Khan Yousafzai, Advocate Sadiq Raisani, and M.B. Marri Baloch.

Representatives of the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) and guests from Afghanistan also attended, expressing solidarity with the Baloch people and emphasising joint efforts for freedom, autonomy, and human rights in the region.

Speakers highlighted the historical significance of 13 November, recalling that in 1839, Mir Mehrab Khan and his companions were martyred defending Balochistan against British colonial forces, laying the foundation for the Baloch national movement. They stressed that colonial-era borders, including the Goldsmith Line and Durand Line, artificially divided the Baloch and Pashtun nations, and that these boundaries remain illegal and unjust.

The event also addressed ongoing atrocities in Pakistani- and Iranian-occupied Balochistan, including enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and resource plundering.

FBM leaders called on the international community, human rights organisations and the United Nations to recognize the Baloch struggle and the ongoing human rights violations.

M.B. Marri Baloch, FBM Finland Branch organiser, paid tribute to the martyrs and pledged to advance the cause of a united Balochistan politically, intellectually and internationally. The event concluded with expressions of thanks to PTM representatives, Afghan guests, and other dignitaries in attendance.
