Sikorski noted that Russia “continues its efforts to break the spirit of the Ukrainian people, who are currently facing the consequences of Russian attacks on their energy infrastructure.”
The comments came after a meeting with Luxembourg’s Foreign Minister Xavier Bettel, during which the two discussed bilateral cooperation, European security, and Russia’s ongoing war in Ukraine.
Poland has responded to Ukraine’s plight by sending 2,000 electricity generators and heaters, while the “Warmth from Poland for Kyiv” campaign has raised almost PLN 9 million (EUR 2.14 million), Sikorski said.

Polish President Karol Nawrocki approved the honour on Sikorski’s recommendation.
Bettel, who served as Luxembourg’s prime minister from 2013 to 2023 and currently holds the posts of foreign minister and deputy prime minister, stressed the importance of European unity.
“This strength is visible when we are united as 27 countries,” he said.
Both ministers emphasised the crucial role of NATO and the need to maintain transatlantic cooperation.
