A 17-year-old was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after being stabbed at an Upstate New York mall on Saturday afternoon, according to the Greece Police Department.
The victim was stabbed in the upper body. Another 17-year-old from Rochester was arrested and charged with assault in the first degree.
Security at the Mall at Greece Ridge detained the suspect without incident at the scene.
Greece police said the victim and suspect knew one another and determined the fight was an isolated incident.
“I’m grateful to our first responders. I feel terrible for the victim. He’s a Greece kid,” Spencer Bernard, a councilmember in the Town of Greece, told WHAM on Saturday.
