Claude Marx has been reappointed as director general of Luxembourg’s financial regulator, the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF), for a five-year term.

Marx, who has been at the head of the CSSF for a decade, has had his mandate renewed with effect from 5 February, the financial regulator said in a statement posted on its website.

The reappointment comes amid changes on the CSSF’s board, normally composed of four directors and the director general.

Last month, the government council nominated Pascale Toussing, former head of the country’s tax office, Administration des Contributions Directes (ACD), to become a director.

Toussing had stepped down from her role at the tax office in 2023 and was later appointed as an adviser at the finance ministry.

Another board member, Jean-Pierre Faber, is also approaching the end of his term, which is due to expire on 31 August.
