NORWAY (WGME) — Taxpayers in Norway got their final chance to tour the school district’s bus garage as the district looks for a new facility.
School leaders and residents are pushing for the district to purchase and convert the former Bessey’s Motor Sales dealership on Main Street into a new transportation hub.
The project has a $2.1 million price tag, but school officials say it’s an investment that has to be made.
“We’ve outgrown this facility. Too many people, too many vehicles, we’ve just outgrown, there’s no parking,” Oxford School District Director of Transportation Chuck Beardsley said.
The voter referendum on this issue is February 24.
