Timeline of events surrounding the conflict

On the morning of February 28, Israeli forces struck Iranian territory, and a few hours later Israel called it a “preemptive strike”.

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Washington had begun “large-scale combat operations” against Iran.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran responded to the strikes by the United States and Israel, launching waves of drones and ballistic missiles at Israel.

Iran also fired missiles at several Middle Eastern countries where U.S. military bases are located.

There were reports of explosions in Bahrain, the UAE, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia.
