Recently released photographs, which appear to show Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor posing with a girl on his lap, were taken during the former Duke of York’s infamous trip to the US in 2010, where he met with Jeffrey Epstein, it has emerged.

As exclusively revealed by The Mirror, the two low-quality images, which were released by the US Department of Justice, are thought to have been taken at the convicted sex offender’s home on the same trip that Andrew travelled to New York. In his infamous Newsnight interview, the King’s brother claimed the trip across the pond was to end his relationship with Epstein following his conviction for child sex offences.

In one image, the man who resembles Andrew can be seen posing for a photograph with a young woman on his lap – the second known victim of the sex offender – whose face has been redacted. In a second photograph, another woman is seen standing over the man believed to be Andrew. There is no confirmation that the man is the former Duke, and Andrew continues to deny all allegations made against him.

The disgraced former Duke famously recounted his 2010 trip to New York, where he claimed he went to sever ties with the paedophile in his disastrous BBC Newsnight interview in 2019.

Host Emily Maitlis asked Andrew at the time: “In 2008, he was convicted of soliciting and procuring a minor for prostitution; he was jailed. This was your friend. How did you feel about it?”

Andrew replied: “Well, I ceased contact with him after I was aware that he was under investigation, and that was later in 2006, and I wasn’t in touch with him again until 2010.” When Ms Maitlis asked him directly if there had been any contact, he gave a blunt answer: “No contact.”

After being shown the pictures of the man who appears to be Andrew, one Epstein victim told The Mirror: “He told the world he went there to end the friendship, but what we now see is the opposite. There were girls around, people laughing, drinks flowing. It didn’t look like someone cutting ties; it looked like someone perfectly comfortable being there, reunited with his long-lost friend. If he really came to end the friendship, he chose a strange way to do it.”

Other recently released Department of Justice documents shed light on the details of Andrew’s NYC visit, during which he claimed to have cut ties with Epstein.

The documents claim there was a five-day itinerary, including a VIP dinner, shopping and a meeting with a Victoria’s Secret Model. Emails between Epstein and Peggy Siegal, publicist for producer Harvey Weinstein, revealed details of the glitzy dinner, including “gold ballroom chairs”, and labelled the evening “sensational”.

The day before the former prince was photographed walking in Central Park with Epstein, the financier also emailed someone named Irina asking for “new girls” and sent a driver to pick up a Victoria’s Secret model named Lara from John F. Kennedy International Airport for a “one or two night” trip. Andrew’s insistence that he broke contact with Epstein after the visit was also contradicted by an email sent two weeks later, wishing him a “wonderful Christmas” and referring to him and his associates as “my US family”.
