Czechia finished as the second seeded team in Group B, posting a 2-0-0-1 (W-OTW-OTL-L) record in preliminary-round play.

In Team USA’s last time out on Tuesday (March 10), Declan Farmer (Tampa, Fla.) recorded his third-consecutive hat trick and added two helpers to help lift the U.S. to a 7-1 victory over China to seal the top seed in Group A.

Farmer’s five-point game gave him 58 career Paralympic points, a new all-time record. He’s also currently tied for his own U.S. Paralympic single-tournament records with 11 goals and 18 points through just three contests.

While Farmer leads the tournament in both goals and points, many of his U.S. teammates are also near the top of the tournament leaderboards. Jack Wallace (Franklin Lakes, N.J.), who has three goals and seven assists, and Brody Roybal (Northlake, Ill.), who has notched two tallies and eight assists, are tied for second amongst all skaters with 10 points in the tournament. David Eustace (Stoneham, Mass.) ranks third amongst all skaters with five goals, and Noah Grove’s (Frederick, Md.) eight assists leave him tied with Roybal, ranking second amongst all skaters.

The U.S. and Czechia have faced off twice all-time at the Paralympics, with Team USA skating to a 10- victory in the preliminary round in PyeongChang in 2018, and a 3-0 victory in the preliminary round in 2010 in Vancouver.

Across all competitions all-time, these two sides have played in 20 contests, with the U.S. posting a 19-0-1-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L) record, including most recently skating to a 3-1 victory over Czechia in the Para Hockey Cup preliminary round in December.

Team USA has played in five Paralympic semifinal games all-time, and is 4-0-0-1 (W-OTW-OTL-L) in those games, including four-consecutive victories.

The gold-medal game is set for Sunday (March 15) at 4:05 p.m. local time/11:05 a.m. ET, live on NBC and Peacock. The contest will feature the winner of this contest versus the winner of the second semifinal-round game between Canada and China, which will take place today at 7:05 p.m. local time/2:05 p.m. ET.
