Malta to extend 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2.1 GHz spectrum licences to 2033
The Malta Communications Authority (MCA) has released a new consultation paper detailing its strategy for managing radio spectrum bands that are nearing their expiration dates. Specifically focusing on the 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, and 2.1 GHz bands, the MCA proposes extending all current usage rights until 8 April 2033. This move is designed to create a uniform expiry date for all frequency bands below 3 GHz used for wireless broadband services.
