Honda is withdrawing the e:Ny1 from most European markets just three years after launch as weak demand forces a rethink of its EV strategy.

Honda is revising its electric-vehicle strategy in Europe and is pulling the e:Ny1 crossover from sale. The model will leave most markets just three years after launch.
Why the model failed
The main reason was weak sales. Even after a price cut in Germany from 47,590 to 38,990 euros, Honda managed to sell only 105 cars over the year. The crossover struggled to compete with more affordable and more advanced offerings from European and Chinese brands, which continue to strengthen their position in the EV segment.
Technical specifications
The Honda e:Ny1 is built on the e:N Architecture F platform and comes with a single electric motor producing 201 hp. A 68.8-kWh battery delivers a range of up to 412 km on the WLTP cycle. The model also received revised styling and a large 15.1-inch screen inside.
Honda’s new strategy
Dropping the e:Ny1 is part of a broader shift. Honda has already scaled back several EV projects for the US, including Acura models and joint developments with Sony.
Instead of a larger crossover, the company is now focusing on the compact Super-N EV, which is set to arrive in Europe in the near future. Its price is expected to be significantly lower, at around 20,000 pounds.
The e:Ny1 underlines just how fierce competition has become in the electric-car market. Honda is being forced to adapt, shifting its focus from expensive models to more affordable options aimed at mainstream buyers.
