The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is making a change to benefits this week – with payments not landing on Monday as expected. The DWP has brought forward the payment date for some key benefits.
It includes Universal Credit, Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and the state pension. Owing to the forthcoming May bank holiday, which falls on Monday, May 4, the DWP has instead paid claimants the previous working day.
It means if you are due a benefit payment on Monday, May 4, you should have received your payment on Friday, May 1 instead. It’s worth checking your bank accounts and statements for a Friday morning payment.
