According to the Ministry of Forestry, the fire is already approximately 2 kilometers from Belarusian territory. The forests of the Milashevichi forestry enterprise in the Lelchitsy district are in the risk zone. The situation is assessed as tense, as it involves a wide fire front that is difficult to contain.

Foresters are preparing for the worst-case scenario: if the fire reaches the border, it will be extinguished by forces from several forestry enterprises in the Gomel region. Over 80 people from various institutions, including the Narovlya, Mozyr, Yelsk, Zhitkovichi, and Kalinkovichi forestry enterprises, are on standby.

More than 15 units of equipment, including fire trucks, are on duty at the border. Forestry workers are expected to spend the upcoming night on enhanced duty, monitoring the situation’s development and ready to act at any moment.
