Music On Festival 2026 will not take place this Saturday and Sunday after Amsterdam authorities shut the event down. The festival team confirmed the news this morning, framing it as devastating for staff and attendees.

“After this morning’s devastating news, we fought for our festival. We gave everything we had, but it wasn’t enough,” the team wrote. Crucially, they urged ticket holders not to travel to the festival grounds. Nobody will be allowed to enter.

Notably, Music On By Night still goes ahead as planned. Both Saturday and Sunday night editions are fully sold out at the time of writing. Ticket holders for those nights should hold onto their passes and plan as normal.

Then come the next steps. The team said they need a moment to process before issuing further guidance. “We are overwhelmed with emotion and need a moment to process this. We understand you have a lot of questions. We will come back to you as soon as possible with information on next steps.”

The cancellation is a heavy blow for one of Amsterdam‘s most established summer festival brands. Refund and rebook information will follow via the official Music On channels. Follow updates on the Music On Instagram.
