AC Milan will see Ismael Bennacer return this summer, it appears, even despite having success with Dinamo Zagreb.

The case of Bennacer is a strange one. At one point, he had hopes to win the Ballon d’Or, albeit these may have been purposefully lucrative goals. However, he has not come close to doing so and is now playing in Croatia.

After agreeing a late loan deal, with the option to buy him this summer, Dinamo Zagreb have made use of the Algerian this season. Yet, he has never become anything more than a squad player, unfortunately.

It means, and has for some time, that he is expected back at Milan in a few months.

Bennacer back… but not for long

As MilanVibes reports, he won his second trophy in Croatia this week, but there is no sign of him heading towards a permanent stay in Zagreb. Indeed, his career is at a crossroads. It seems unlikely that he will stay where he is currently, given his physical issues this season.

So, it is almost guaranteed that he heads back to Milanello this summer. However, it will not be for long. His story with the Diavolo is all but done and with his contract running out next summer, it may be a case of getting rid however they can.

His physical issues have, once again, been his downfall. An unfortunate situation for the Algerian.
