WANA (May 16) – Pakistan’s Interior Minister, Syed Mohsin Naqvi, has traveled to Tehran for meetings with senior officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
According to informed diplomatic sources in Islamabad, Naqvi arrived in Tehran on Saturday in a previously unannounced visit and is expected to hold talks with several high-ranking Iranian officials, including Iran’s interior minister.
The visit comes after Naqvi’s previous trip to Tehran on April 15 this year, when he accompanied Pakistan’s army chief during a three-day visit to Iran. During that trip, he also held a separate meeting with his Iranian counterpart, Eskandar Momeni.
Naqvi additionally attended official meetings between the Pakistani military delegation and senior Iranian officials, including the president, the speaker of parliament, and the foreign minister.
No further details have yet been released regarding the agenda of the latest visit, though it is seen as part of ongoing consultations between Tehran and Islamabad on security, border affairs, and bilateral cooperation.
