The team, including international superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, arrived at Palm Beach International on Friday night. They practiced for the first time Saturday night in Palm Beach Gardens. The city of Palm Beach County and the Palm Beach Sports Commission worked with FIFA and Portugal to make the park suitable.The fields are pristine, and the media center is set up. Security is tight at the entrance. The 82-acre park opened in June 2019. Palm Beach Gardens oversees funding, operations, staffing and maintenance of this facility, which is open to residents and residents in northern Palm Beach County.Portugal is hoping the home-away-from-home provides everything needed to make a World Cup run in likely Ronaldo’s last appearance. Portugal’s first game is on Wednesday against the Democratic Republic of Congo in Houston. Then they play Uzbekistan, also in Houston, before the Group K final game in Miami Gardens on June 27 against Colombia.
