CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – Iowa graduate Hannah Stuelke signed autographs at the new Dick’s House of Sport at Lindale Mall on Friday.
Stuelke is leaving the country in late August to start her professional career, playing for Broni in Serie A, the top women’s basketball league in Italy.
After not being selected in the WNBA draft, Stuelke was ready to be done with basketball, but the call from Italy came just in time.
“At first I decided I was going to be done actually and then they reached out. I thought it was going to be a good fit for me,” Stuelke said. “Just the timing was really good it was kind of a God moment you know everything just fell into place.”
Stuelke said she has been Broni head coach Mirco Diamant will run an offense similar to the Iowa’s 2025 offense under Jan Jensen.
“I’m just excited to get over there and be somewhere new,” said the Cedar Rapids Washington grad. “I’ve been in Iowa my whole life.”
