Ukraine advocates for the possibility of discussing various scenarios for the return of its citizens, including a prisoner exchange between Russia and Belarus of individuals suspected of espionage or serving sentences under the relevant articles of the criminal code.
According to Detektor Media, the response of the Coordinating Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War was provided to the Belarusian service of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.
Both the Russian and Belarusian authorities are informed about Ukraine’s willingness and readiness to proceed with such a process. But neither the first nor the second is rushing to reclaim their “failed” agents, as evidenced by the statistics of the state project “I want to be with my own.”

Stance on the exchange and prospects
As early as May, the head of the secretariat of the Coordinating Headquarters noted that the Belarusian side had asked to include Inna Kardash on the exchange lists; however, at that moment there were no concrete actions – only talks.
According to public reports, seven civilian Ukrainian citizens who had been in captivity on the territory of Russia for years returned home on June 27.
