SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – Community partners in Savannah are gearing up to kick off National Breastfeeding Awareness Month with a free family event this weekend.
Healthy Savannah and the Georgia Department of Public Health’s Coastal Health District said they are hosting the community gathering on Saturday, Aug. 1, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Pennsylvania Avenue Resource Center, located at 425 Pennsylvania Ave. in Savannah.
The kickoff aligns with World Breastfeeding Week 2026, themed “Breastfeeding for a Sustainable Start in Life: Strengthen What Works.”
Organizers say the event will offer a variety of services and family-friendly activities, including:
Breastfeeding education and support resourcesWIC appointments on-siteA healthy walk around the neighborhoodFree giveaways and local community vendors
