The US Department of Energy will likely reduce the number of states chosen to host what it’s dubbing Nuclear Lifecycle Innovation Campuses from the five currently selected, an official from the department said Monday.
“Five may be too many,” said Marla Morales, acting deputy assistant secretary for spent fuel and high-level waste disposition during a webinar with American Nuclear Society CEO Craig Piercy. “We need to run those numbers.”
