BARCELONA, Spain – At the heart of INCAPTO is a simple but ambitious idea: great coffee shouldn’t have to be a luxury, an expensive hobby, or a club reserved for those in the know. It should be part of everyday life—just as good at home as it is anywhere else. That is the mission of the Spanish company founded in 2020: to make specialty coffee simple and accessible to everyone. The journey started where most coffee is enjoyed—at home. “We wanted to improve the everyday coffee experience by making great coffee simple, convenient and consistent,” the company explains. Convenience was never intended to come at the expense of quality; instead, the two were designed to go hand in hand. From the home market, the concept naturally expanded into offices and, six years later, into hospitality, with solutions developed for professional environments. The same philosophy has simply been carried into increasingly demanding settings.

What ties every stage of that journey together is one guiding belief: making excellence accessible without compromising it.

“We believe great coffee shouldn’t be reserved for experts or specialty coffee shops,” the team says. The principle is one INCAPTO repeats consistently: remove complexity without compromising quality. Complexity is everything that creates friction—the difficult techniques, the specialist knowledge, the barriers between consumers and a great cup of coffee. Quality is what remains in the cup. INCAPTO’s goal is to eliminate the first while preserving the second, bringing specialty coffee into everyday life through carefully sourced beans, consistent roasting and intuitive technology.

That commitment to quality begins long before the coffee reaches the cup.

“Everything starts at origin,” the company says, describing a responsibility that goes “beyond selling products”: building long-term relationships with producing communities while helping create a more transparent value chain. The team regularly visits producers and cooperatives, and its selection criteria extend well beyond cup quality alone. Consistency, traceability, farming practices and, above all, the people behind every lot are all part of the evaluation.

“Our objective is not simply to buy good coffees, but to build a portfolio that delivers outstanding quality to consumers while ensuring producers receive the recognition they deserve.”

From this perspective, exceptional coffee is the result of lasting partnerships rather than one-off purchases.

But success inevitably brings a new challenge. As the promise of accessible quality became reality, a new question emerged: how do you maintain the same standard in every cup when production scales rapidly across very different environments?

This is where INCAPTO’s vision meets engineering—and where its partnership with IMF begins.

As the business expanded from homes to offices and hospitality, the company needed roasting technology capable of growing alongside it without sacrificing quality.

“We were looking for a partner that could combine industrial reliability with the precision required for specialty coffee roasting,” the company explains. “IMF matched that vision.”

The priority was clear.

“Consistency was our highest priority,” INCAPTO says. At scale, consistency is more than a value—it becomes a technical discipline. What matters is not simply achieving an excellent roast profile once, but reproducing it reliably, batch after batch.

“Quality is not only about creating a great roast profile once, but about being able to reproduce it consistently, batch after batch.”

IMF’s automation and advanced process control have enabled INCAPTO to standardise production while reducing reliance on manual adjustments—something that becomes increasingly important as both production volumes and operational complexity continue to grow.

Ultimately, this is what makes it possible to deliver the company’s original promise on a much larger scale.

Two further elements complete the picture.

The first is sustainability. IMF’s air recirculation technology recovers and reuses the heat generated during roasting, reducing both energy consumption and emissions.

“Roasting better coffee also means roasting with fewer resources,” the company says, highlighting how product quality and responsible resource management are inseparable.

The second is data. Integrated scales for green coffee intake and roasted coffee discharge automatically record the weight loss of every batch, feeding a traceability and quality-control system that makes daily production measurable, transparent and easy to manage.
