During a meeting on August 28, 2026, Egyptian Investment and Foreign Trade Minister Mohamed Farid Saleh and Singaporean Ambassador to Egypt Dominic Goh discussed concrete plans to expand mutual investments and open new doors for businesses in both countries.

How Egypt and Singapore plan to boost trade and investment ties

The bilateral discussions focused heavily on encouraging Singaporean companies to expand their footprint in Egypt and attracting fresh investments into key industrial sectors.

According to Egypt’s State Information Service, Minister Saleh emphasized the need to elevate the partnership, calling for “building on the positive development witnessed in Egyptian-Singaporean relations in recent years” to establish stronger economic partnerships.

To achieve this, the minister underscored “the significance of intensifying meetings and promotional efforts” to showcase Egypt’s potential to Singaporean investors.

Establishing Egypt as a global export hub for Singaporean businesses

A central part of the meeting is to promote Egypt as a major production and shipping hub. Officials want to leverage Egypt’s strategic geographic location and its existing trade agreements with Arab, African, and European markets to help businesses reach international markets.

The two countries are also looking for ways to boost Egyptian exports directly to Singapore, working together to identify competitive products and ease their entry into the Singaporean market.

Sharing logistics and sustainability expertise between Egypt and Singapore

The collaboration will also see Egypt adopting Singapore’s highly regarded management practices.

Egypt plans to learn from Singapore’s advanced expertise in financial center management, digital transformation, and supply chains.

The two nations explored cooperative projects to develop logistics infrastructure, industrial zones, and distribution centers.

Additionally, they discussed potential partnerships in carbon certification and sustainability, alongside a proposal to organize a promotional trade mission to Singapore.
